Climbing Arborist

Job Description
 
Axe & Wedge Tree Works is seeking experienced candidates who are dependable, motivated, willing to learn, and who possess strong interpersonal skills and qualities. Candidates must have a passion for outdoor work, and be prepared to work outside year round in all weather conditions. ISA or 444a Arborist Certification, or equivalent, preferred.
 
As an employee of Axe & Wedge Tree Works, a Climbing Arborist will be expected to coordinate and execute / or assist in the removal, trimming, or pruning of trees by means of safe felling or climbing techniques, or by use of a variety of aerial lift equipment. A climbing arborist will report directly to the site supervisor and company management, and is expected to work with other crew members in all stages of tree removal or health care maintenance including but not limited to; job site and equipment set-up, tree material processing and hauling, and all job site clean-up tasks and responsibilities. All employees of Axe & Wedge Tree Works are required to assist in the regular and routine maintenance of tools and fleet equipment, and shall actively participate in and adhere to the company health and safety program. Work crews generally work five 10 hour days, followed by two days off. Opportunities for after hours on-call and emergency work available for employees.
 
Applicants for this position must hold at minimum a valid G Licence, with a clean drivers abstract, at the time of application. DZ Licence preferred.
 
Compensation and benefit package to be negotiated and will be based on interpersonal skills and qualities, previous work experience, and relevant industry qualifications. 
 
All employees of Axe & Wedge Tree Works are covered by WSIB.

Tree Care General Technician, Driver

Job Description
 
Axe & Wedge Tree Works is seeking experienced candidates who are dependable, motivated, willing to learn, and who possess strong interpersonal skills and qualities. Candidates must have a passion for outdoor work, and be prepared to work outside year round in all weather conditions. Prior experience in the tree care or forestry industry, as well as a DZ Drivers Licence, is required.
 
As an employee of Axe & Wedge Tree Works, a General Technician will be expected to coordinate and execute / or assist in the removal, trimming, or pruning of trees and will assist climbers or aerial operators from the ground utilizing industry standard practices. A ground technician will report directly to the site supervisor and company management, and will work in all stages of tree removal and health care maintenance including but not limited to; job site and equipment set-up, tree material processing and hauling, and all job site clean-up tasks and responsibilities. All employees of Axe & Wedge Tree Works are required to assist in the regular and routine maintenance of tools and fleet equipment, and shall actively participate in and adhere to the company health and safety program. Job Description

Axe & Wedge Tree Works is seeking experienced or entry level candidates who are dependable, motivated, willing to learn, and who possess strong interpersonal skills and qualities. Candidates must have a passion for outdoor work, and be prepared to work outside year round in all weather conditions.

As an employee of Axe & Wedge Tree Works, a General Labourer will assist arborists and ground technicians in the removal, trimming, and pruning of trees by means of safe industry standard practices. A general labourer will report directly to the site supervisor and company management, and will work in all stages of tree removal and health care maintenance including but not limited to; job site and equipment set-up, tree material processing and hauling, and all job site clean-up tasks and responsibilities. All employees of Axe & Wedge Tree Works are required to assist in the regular and routine maintenance of tools and fleet equipment, and shall actively participate in and adhere to the company health and safety program. Work crews generally work five 10 hour days, followed by two days off. Opportunities for after hours on-call and emergency work available for employees.
